# TutorsLog — Child & Minor Safety and Privacy Policy
I recommend having this as a separate page, linked from Registration, Terms and Privacy Policy.
Effective Date: 09/09/2026
TutorsLog is an educational platform that may be used by children and young people. We recognise that children's personal information and online safety require additional protection.
For purposes of this Policy, a Child generally means a person below 18 years of age where that definition applies under Indian data-protection law.
**1. Parent or Guardian Involvement**
Where required by applicable law, a child must use TutorsLog with the consent and involvement of a parent or lawful guardian.
TutorsLog may request information necessary to determine whether a user is a child and, where required, to verify parent or guardian consent.
A simple "I am the parent" checkbox should not be your final technical architecture. The notified DPDP Rules describe due diligence around verifying that the person providing parental consent is an identifiable adult.
**2. Information About Children**
TutorsLog seeks to collect only information reasonably necessary for providing its educational services.
This may include a child's name, email/account information, age, examination activity, scores and optional profile information.
TutorsLog should avoid requesting unnecessary sensitive information from children.
**3. Examination Information**
Children may participate in mock examinations for educational and practice purposes.
Their scores are intended to help them evaluate their knowledge and should not be considered official academic results.
A poor mock-test result should not be interpreted as determining a child's academic potential or future examination performance.
**4. Children's Public Profiles and Results**
A child's full name, photograph and identifiable examination results should not be publicly displayed by default.
Where TutorsLog wishes to feature a child in a leaderboard, achievement section, testimonial or promotional area, appropriate parent or guardian consent should first be obtained where required.
TutorsLog may instead use privacy-preserving formats such as:
Aradhana B. — 92%
rather than exposing unnecessary identifying information.
**5. Advertising and Profiling**
TutorsLog will not knowingly use children's personal information for targeted advertising or prohibited behavioural monitoring.
The DPDP Act prohibits covered processing involving targeted advertising directed at children and behavioural monitoring of children, subject to prescribed exceptions.
**6. Safety in Communication Features**
If TutorsLog enables communication between students, tutors, institutions or other users, users must behave appropriately.
Adults must not use TutorsLog to engage in inappropriate communications with children, request unnecessary personal information, engage in harassment, intimidation, grooming, sexual communication or other harmful behaviour.
Such activity may result in immediate account restriction or termination and may be reported to appropriate authorities where required.
**7. Personal Contact Information**
Children should be encouraged not to publicly disclose unnecessary personal information such as:
home addresses, private phone numbers, school schedules, passwords, financial information or other information that could create safety risks.
TutorsLog should design public student profiles to minimise exposure of such information.
**8. Parent Rights and Requests**
Parents or lawful guardians may contact TutorsLog regarding a child's account, subject to identity and authority verification.
Requests may concern correction of information, privacy concerns, account deletion or withdrawal of consent where applicable.
**9. Child Safety Reports**
Parents, guardians, teachers and users are encouraged to report concerns involving children's privacy or safety.
Child Safety Contact: **childsafety@tutorslog.com**
Urgent situations involving suspected illegal conduct may also be referred to appropriate authorities where required.
**10. Protection of Children's Data**
TutorsLog will apply reasonable safeguards intended to protect children's personal information from unauthorised access, misuse or disclosure.
Access to children's personal information should be limited to authorised personnel and service providers who require it for legitimate Platform purposes.
**11. Changes to this Policy**
TutorsLog may update this Child & Minor Safety and Privacy Policy when Platform functionality, legal requirements or child-safety practices change.
